The Sparrow experience: Simpler leave processes from start to finish

Before partnering with Sparrow for end-to-end employee leave management, Electric Hydrogen used a different leave management vendor. But the vendor wasn’t meeting their needs, particularly when it came to payroll accuracy and efficiency.

“Our payroll team had a lot of boxes they wanted to check off,” Sattler said. “They’re a small group, and they didn’t have the bandwidth to do constant payroll reconciliations.”

When an Electric Hydrogen employee requests a leave, the team inputs their information into the Sparrow dashboard—and Sparrow takes over from there. Then, Sparrow Leave Specialists file state benefits paperwork on behalf of Electric Hydrogen employees, and liaise directly with insurance providers and state agency representatives, so employees can focus on their families instead of spending time on tedious follow-ups.

Throughout the process, Sparrow keeps Electric Hydrogen’s HR team, payroll team, and managers up to date with email notifications.
