Product Updates

HR Business Partner (HRBP) Dashboard

The HRBP Dashboard is now available to all Sparrow customers! This new feature gives HR Business Partners limited visibility into employee leaves and ensures they receive key email notifications, such as return-to-work reminders. Access is based on the HRBP field, which can be set manually or via an HRIS integration.

We recommend enabling this feature alongside the Manager Dashboard, which provides managers with similar access while incorporating additional privacy safeguards and resources to help them support their teams.

Global Leave Tracking

Sparrow has launched the industry’s first global leave solution!

This feature allows organizations to independently manage leaves of absence in countries where Sparrow does not currently provide leave management and compliance services.

The Global Leave Tracker allows HR Administrators to:

  • Record leave details for employees in any country.
  • Reduce manual data entry through HRIS integration where available.
  • Provide visibility to HRBPs and managers if dashboard access is enabled.
  • Upload private leave-related documents that remain confidential.
  • Access a dedicated international leave report tab within the standard HR report.

Ongoing Product Improvements

Expanded HRIS Integration Support

We’ve added support for ingesting personal email, preferred name, and preferred pronouns via HRIS integrations. If you’d like to include these fields in your integration, reach out to your Leave Specialist team.

Improved Leave Type Selection

To make it easier for all users to select the appropriate leave type and facilitate claim filing, we’ve updated the leave type selection field with clearer, plain-language descriptions.

HR-Only Document Uploads

HR admins can now upload documents to a leave that are not visible to employees. This ensures that sensitive or administrative documents remain accessible only to those who need them.

Compliance Updates

The Sparrow team regularly reviews and summarizes federal, state, and local compliance updates. Key updates in Ontario, Manitoba, Newfoundland and Labrador, and New York are available:

Sparrow’s Benchmark Report

Sparrow’s latest benchmark report has been released, analyzing data from over 30,000 leaves and 600 company policies to help employers make informed decisions when considering their leave policies. The report offers insight into how employers are balancing workforce needs with FMLA compliance, lengths and various types of leave offered by companies of different sizes, emerging trends in leave usage and employee needs, and more.
